Jessie Louise, known as Jesi Terrell in the Entertainment Industry, is a native of Chicago, IL. The place where all of her Humble beginnings originated. Jesi grew up with a love for all types of Music and has a Gospel background as well as coming from generations of singers, notably her Father, Cleo Mottley who sang with The Soul Stirrers in his earlier years. Her Uncle John Terrell sang with Impressions (Curtis Mayfield) Also in his earlier years.
The rising songstress love of music began with singing in the Church Choir. She’s a contemporary R&B Superstar. One cannot help but notice her voice. She delivers a cutting edge,sultry sound, that's sweetened around the edges. Her voice—half sex kitten, half woman of power—but also her songwriting lyrics are provocative, danceable blend of Urban R&B, Soul and Southern-fried Soul blues. Jesi is seasoned Chicago music scene veteran who has opened for B.B. King and Eric Clapton and traveled with Little Milton. In 2009, Jesi moved to Washington, DC where she united with her band, which she has affectionately, named “The LMB”. The LMB is a powerful, funky blues,and soulful band. This young lady is surely making a name for herself National and International. Her passion for Singing and Performing R&B, Soul and Blues Music began over 20 years.
Jesi Terrell won the award for The Global Music Awards Bronze Metal R&B/Pop song February 2018 (Love Mechanic), March 2019 (Come Get This Love) and "Best Song Of The Year" and "Artist Of The Year" Award for 2016 By the National Southern Soul Foundation. Jesi has also been nominated for awards in 5 categories, best vocals, new artist in southern soul, best mid - tempo song, best soulful singer and best artist and rising star.
